30/07/08 - File server went down and deleted all of my files. I will be working to reupload all files and get the page back to normal. Audio and Tabs are back online, just the private videos have to be reuploaded. Sorry for the inconvenience. Check back often. 06/20/08 - Updated the Roza tab with almost correct timing and improved the Roza midi file to make it easier for people to learn. 06/19/08 - New picture online, new video added to private upload section of video page, and new tab added (Evdokias) 07/05/08 - New audio file online 05/05/08 - New tab online 02/05/08 - New tab online as requested. 2 new videos added to private upload section of video page. These videos were from easter 2006 before I knew how to hold a bouzouki. 28/04/08 - Happy Easter to everybody! New pictures and a new tab added. Hope everyone had a great easter! More videos and tabs to be coming shortly so stay tuned. 11/04/08 - New videos added to the private upload section of video 03/04/08 - New song added to audio 02/04/08 - New audio files added of the single notes DO (C), FA (F), LA (A), RE (D) to help those without a tuner or those who are new to bouzouki tune their instruments. Note however that some sound qualities may be lost when transferring to digital and that these sound files are probably not 100% in quality, but they are a good starting point. 15/03/08 - New tabs online. 03/02/08 - New comments section is online. Dont forget to leave a comment before you go! 02/02/08 - Okay, the website is pretty much complete for now. I just wanted everyone to know what I had in store for the future of this site. Some ideas I've been playing around with are things like putting in a guestbook or forum for people to communicate with eachother, an audio player which will let you listen to bouzouki while you surf the site and will be available and functional even after you close down the webpage, a links page to sites of interest dealing with bouzouki and a personal video page where I can upload those videos which dont quite make it onto youtube. If anyone has any good ideas that they would like to see incorporated into the page just let me know. I was also thinking about adding a kind of classifieds page where teachers and future students can hook up, where people can buy/sell/advertise their bouzouki and equipment, and where bouzouksi's can advertise their band or hook up with people looking for a band to play for them. Let me know what you guys think. You can find my contact information in the 'About Me' page. 02/01/08 - Website is almost completed and has been posted to the internet for everyone to enjoy. Thus marks the beginning of our journey. Bouzouki lessons have been going well with Dimitri as he not only is teaching me new songs, but also excercises to quicken and loosen the fingers and he also puts allot of emphasis on theory. I don't think it can be overstated how important music theory is when trying to learn a new instrument and allot of beginner bouzouki players as well as many old timers who were self taught dont seem to grasp this concept. It only makes sense because how are you supposed to play a song without knowing the relationships of the notes to eachother and which notes/scales harmonize with eachother. Dimitri asked me once what I would rate him as a teacher from 1 to 10 and my answer then, as it is now, is a solid 9 because of his theory emphasis and his drills. He demands perfection, as should anyone who is trying to learn. Theory is not easy, dont get me wrong, it has caused me allot of headaches and stress, but with a little perserverance, the cloud of confusion slowly dissapates and understanding sets in. One last thing. Dimitri asked me to ask if anyone can play guitare as he is looking for a guitarist to play with him in a restaraunt gig. If anyone in the GTA is interested dont hesitate to contact him. You can find his website at http://www.youtube.com/mastouradb |
